1955 to 2009
Andrea was a clever, funny, generous, loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and daughter. There are many more attributes I could add here, but I'm sure you get the idea :-)
Andrea fought a long and hard battle against cancer, which she ultimately lost. Throughout her life, and her illness, she remained constant in her nature and spirit, and we can only but admire her strength, courage and determination.
To say that she loved cooking and entertaining would be an understatement!
One of Andrea's dreams was to have a recipe book published, which was to be dedicated to me, her daughter.
The first hurdle is that all of her amazing recipes were in her head, because she practically never weighed or measured any ingredients!
So as a start, she went about making note of every step of every recipe as and when she cooked them. About a year before her death, a friend and I tried to convince her to start a site like this, instead of doing the book. She was keen at first, but eventually she admitted that she felt quite intimidated about "putting herself out there", and she decided not to go ahead with it. Sadly, the book didn't come about either, because she just ran out of time.
Well, Andrea's legacy now lives on, through this website :-)
I'm honoured to be able to do this on her behalf, and I thank all my friends and family for their love and support in this project.
Mom, I Love You. Always and Forever.
